Quick J6CR Thoughts

Hey guys, today we're going to be doing a quick first impression on the J6CRs and how they compare to the previous J6 Paddles. Let's get into it.

All right so the new CRs are going to be a new foam core design from Honolulu and the J6s keep the previous shape that the NFs and FC+ also have. For metrics, the J6s usually have a Lower swingweight and high twistweight for an elongated paddle but for this new J6CR we got a low swingweight of 113 which is in the lower range for even a hybrid paddle and a decent twistweight of 6.15. So lower than both the J6FC+ and NFs. In stock form the J6CR does still perform decently well, I don't think it's as bad as other low swingweight paddles like a stock Dynasty C45 or a R3 Quanta but I do think the paddle does perform better with weight. I did a simple weight setup for now of just 3 grams at 3 and 9 but likely I'll look to add some more as I continue testing.

But overall, this is a solid power paddle from Honolulu. It's the most powerful paddle they've released and a solid contender against the foam elongated market. I hit this alongside the FC+ and NF variants of the J6 and found the CRs to play like a juiced up version of the NFs. The CRs have a livelier surface and you can feel the ball pop off with more force on contact. It has a slight hollow and high pitched sound and firepower wise, it does keep up with something like a V-Sol Pro.

I do think if you enjoy the stable elongated J6 shape from Honolulu and wanted an upgrade in firepower with more pop off the face than the J6NF, this is a very easy recommendation. It does come lighter though so it offers flexibility for custom perimeter weighting but it's still viable if you want to play it stock and utilize its fast maneuverability.

It's currently available for preorder for just under $195 but I do have a discount code (DMVPBALL) if you do want to save money on your order.
