Six zero Coral vs Apes Charm

A bit delayed but I just received my Six Zero Coral. Six Zero apparently has two people named David Yang in their database so when it came time to ship paddles to reviewers, they sent it to the other guy and didn’t noticed the mistake until I reached out wondering why I hadn’t received a paddle yet. All good though, better late than never to hit these and based on what I’ve been hearing from others, sounds like this is a really solid all court paddle. I have seen comments asking how this compares to the Pickleball Apes Charm series too so decided to take the Charm S out to compare.

It was pretty refreshing to hit these because this play session was my first after all the tournament/tourney prep I had been doing so this was a welcome break from hitting power paddles. I started with the Coral and immediately saw why people really enjoy it. It’s basically just a very solid all court paddle with a good feel. It did feel kind of light on contact so I’m curious how it stacks up against the original Six Zero Double Black Diamond but I do know it has some new tech additions such as the longer lasting diamond grit.

The Charm S is a paddle I’ve hit before and I still think it’s a solid all court paddle. Compared to the Coral, I found the Charm to have more flex into the face and a more muted feedback. I did think the firepower was slightly lower though and I also didn’t think the sweetspot was as nice as the Coral. Both paddles I’ve been hitting in stock form and I did find the Coral to be more forgiving and stable

Overall I do think the Coral is a solid paddle. The Charm still has its place in providing more flex and dwell compared to the Coral but I do think the latter is more forgiving and a better all court choice for the majority of players
