Revolin Roya
Revolin’s always been an interesting company that I’ve wanted to root for. They experiment the most with different surface materials compared to other brands and they are very eco friendly as well. The paddles on the other hand always have a unique feel to them where you either love it or you hate it.
This time they’re using Helicoid architecture and it’s their stiffest paddle I’ve hit so far. Their previous paddles had a ton of dwell and give into the face and this time they’ve gone the opposite direction and made a stiffer paddle with more pop to it that gives more firepower.
It’s a paddletek bantam competitor but it’s tough to release something like this in the market right now. The Roya is still a Gen 1 paddle like the bantam series and having that small sweetspot is really rough to deal with. With weight added, the Roya is a solid paddle but to be honest I still would take a bantam esq over it. While the Roya is using unique tech, at its core I don’t think it’s a performance paddle that competes against modern paddles in the market
